Have you checked out simplyhired.com? It's a very cool new tool that combines aggregated job listings with salary research and online networking.
First you search for job postings by entering job title and location, then if you find a likely opportunity you can click the "compare salary" button to learn some general salary information. Even cooler, you can also click the "who do I know" button to get an immediate listing of all of your LinkedIn connections (direct or several steps away) who have a connection to that company in that location.
As its name implies, simplyhired.com is designed to simplify the multiple-step process of learning about and applying for jobs. Word of warning, however - no tool, no matter how cool, can replace one-to-one communication. But if you can make your online efforts more efficient, you'll free up more time for the "real" work of job search.
