A good friend and colleague periodically refreshes my day with poems that she refers to as "flowers left on your desk by a friend." And they are just that! Uplifting, inspiring, a real break in my task-driven workday.
During your job search, take time now and then to think about how you can leave metaphorical "flowers" for someone. What can you do to brighten someone's day or lift their load? So much of what you're doing is all about you - your goals, your targets, your connections and interviews, your next steps. Take the focus off yourself for just a few minutes, look around, and see what else is going on and how you can help - just a bit, without expecting payback.
You'll refresh yourself while uplifting others. Very nice all around.
