Conventional wisdom holds that good marketing starts with market analysis, and good personal branding starts with an insightful, comprehensive survey of how you are perceived by others. These are reasonable, proven approaches.
Regardless, like many of life's other important entrepreneurial ventures, I think some of the best personal branding efforts start with a profound indifference to what other people think.
