You make an excellent point and I agree that many job seekers place too much time and focus on the job boards to open up new opportunities. I've heard several success stories about sales pro's generating job opportunities by starting at the TOP (C-level Administrators, VP Sales, Board of Directors, etc.) instead of starting at the bottom (sales recruiter).

Here's a for example... At http://www/localdog.com any sales job seeker can search a database of over 28,000 contacts within F500 companies. This is a quick and easy way to identify Sales and Business Development hiring managers and get a resume to them directly!
