Penelope Trunk, in my opinion, hit a few nails on their heads last month in her blog post, "How to write an email that generates a useful response." Adding further value to this are the numerous comments with even more solid advice on emailing tips that are worth knowing and doing. In today's cyberworld full of savvy authors, pundits and experts, if you have a question or want to share ideas with someone that shares yours, Google the topic and you'll probably find a resource. Then, use your networking skills to connect with the source, begin a dialogue and share your own expertise and perhaps start a new relationship based on your shared interest.

I think the link to Penelope's blog post is broken in your post above -- I Googled it and found it at http://blog.penelopetrunk.com/2008/12/22/how-to-write-an-email-that-generates-a-good-answer/
Thanks for the pointer. It's a helpful set of tips.
